Arun Valley Trek

The Arun is one of the major rivers in eastern Nepal. Its valley cuts its way through the lower reaches of two of the highest mountains in the world, Kanchanjunga (third) and Makalu (fifth). The trek begins in the Everest region and passes through many forested hills, picturesque valleys and colourful villages.

Thereafter, the trail leads past the sparkling Panch Pokhari Lake and into the Mera Valley. Mera Peak is a popular trekking peak of the country. Along the way one will get unforgettable views of some of the mightiest mountains in Nepal – in fact, the world: Everest, Kanchanjunga, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu and Baruntse, as well as many other lesser, but nonetheless imposing, peaks. Finally the track takes one through the Zaire La pass and into Lukla.Arun valley trek offers a superb memorable views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Makalu and other mountains of the Everest and Makalu Himalayan range as well you will see world deepest Arun valley and Hindu holy lake Salpa Pokhari(3414m). Walking north up to the Arun river to Sedua and Num, and then crossing Barun La(4110m.) into the upper Barun khola valley for a close appear at Makalu. The highest point of Arun valley trek is Salpa Bhanjyang.
Arun valley trek starts with a flight from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar and ends at Lukla, then fly back Lukla to Kathmandu. Arun valley trek is the camping (tent) basic trekking. We have to arrange by our trekking team. There are not tea house (lodges) in Arun valley hence; due to its isolation and lack of tea houses this area still receives few trekkers. February to May and August to December is the best season for Arun valley trek. Though if you are interested this trek is possible to operate in any season.
