Everest Base Camp Yoga Trek Nepal


Overview

   Trek to Gokyo, Kala patter and Everest base camp with a crossing of Cho La at 5420m -19 days ex Kathmandu. An ultimate challenge to the ambitious trekkers, this moderate to challenging graded trek takes you to the foot of Mt. Everest traversing challenging high Cho Lo pass at an elevation of 5420 meters. Also included is the opportunity to trek to the summit of both Gokyo Ri [5483m.] and Kala Patter [5554m.] for magnificent views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu etc. A visit to Everest base camp will also allow you to have a closer look at the spectacular Khumbu Icefall. This trek requires you to be moderately fit but not necessarily an experienced trekker. Considering the snow condition over Cho Lo pass the trek may not be advisable during winter [January and February. and monsoon period [July& August].

After 35 Minutes flight from kathmandu airport you will be landed beautiful small lukla. Your guide  take you to Namche Bazaar where you will have an acclimatization day. It will be an opportunity to know everything about Sherpa’s  their culture, festivals, lifestyle, traditions their beliefs and many more. Your trek begins from Namche to Kala Patthar and returns back to where you started. While trekking, you will have opportunities/experience of wildlife, nature, culture of different places. The photographic opportunities are limitless inspiring views like Khumbu Glacier, Everest and Nuptse, alpine scrub and junipers of the Sherpa region, and the pine forests and rhododendron flowers of the valleys. Those pictures taken will make you relive while on the way home. You will make your way through alpine forest, glacial rivers, waterfalls, stony trails, mountains and monasteries to a Kala Patthar from where a 360-degree good view of mountains including Mt. Everest. Then you will head back to Lukla to Kathmandu after achieving your target to Everest base camp (5400meters) and Kala Patthar.


Details Itinerary

Day 01: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla 2700m and trek to Phakding 2600, 4 hrs and overnight.

A spectacular flight and a jagged landing on a steep mountain runway bring us to the start of our trek at the village of Lukla [2850m]. After meeting the crew, we head up the Dudh Koshi Valley on a well-marked trail to our first camp near the river at Phakding.

Day 02: Phakding trek to Namche Bazaar 3440m, (6 hrs) and overnight.

We continue north following the Dudh Kosi river and on to Jorsale where we enter the Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park. From here it is a short walk to the confluence of two rivers, the ijma Drangpa (Imja Khola) and the Nangpo Tsangpo (Bhote Kosi) followed by a steep climb (for about 2hrs.) to Namche Bazaar, the main town in the Khumbu region. Namche is a prosperous Sherpa town and an important trading center with a weekly Saturday market.

Day 03: Namche Bazaar rest day and overnight.

Namche Bazaar is tucked away between two ridges amongst the giant peaks of the Khumbu. Once named the ‘Trekkers Mecca of Nepal, Namche now boasts an abundance of lodges and souvenir shops. It is an ideal place to spend a rest day, acclimatizing to the new altitude of 3450m before heading off towards Gokyo. Options for acclimatization walks include a visit to Khunde Hospital and also the one hour walk up to the Everest Hotel above Namche for the sunset view of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Everest.

Day 04 : Namche Bazaar trek to Tyangboche, 3860m, (6 hrs) and overnight From Namche.

the trail contours around the side of the valley, high above the Dudh Kosi. Now we get our first really good views of the great peaks of the Khumbu including Mt Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam. Passing by several villages and numerous tea shops, we descend steeply to a bridge over the river at Phunki Tenga. The village is an excellent lunch spot, and here we can rest before making the steep climb to Tengboche. Although tiring, the hike up the zigzag path has numerous distractions, with rhododendron bushes, beautiful birds and superb mountain scenery. Tengboche is famous for its legendary monastery, the largest in the Khumbu. We stay near the monastery with Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam framed in the doorway of our guest house.

Day 05 : Tyangboche trek to Dingboche, 4300m, (6hrs) and overnight.

After breakfast, we head up to Dingbuche. On the way the majestic Amadablam over shadows our day. On the way, we meet a little Sherpa village called Pangbuche continue to Dingbuche for overnight.

Day 06 : Dingboche trek to Labuche 4930m, (6 hrs) and overnight.

We continue up the wide valley beneath the impressive peaks of Cholatse and Tawache on the left. We then turn right and climb more steeply towards the foot of the Khumbu Glacier. At the top of this climb, there are many stone cairns, built as memorials to the many Sherpas who have died while climbing Mt Everest. The path then climbs gently along the glacier, to eventually reach the cluster of houses at Lobuche.

Day 07: Labuche rest day and overnight Lobuche.

we walk for 1 weeks already, slowly ascent in order to acclimatize well. We have a beautiful view from Lobuje and the Ama Dablam is seen in a different aspect here. The real top of Kantega is visible far to the left. From Lobuje, a summer village. The sunset on Nuptse (7879m) seen from Lobuje, is a memorable sight.

Day 08: Labuche trek to Gorakpshep 5170m, (2 and a half hrs) and overnight.

Gorakshep We continue our trek along the Khumbu Glacier. We will reach our destination quiet early but you can spend the rest of the days for acclimatization & preparation for the next day adventure.

Day 09 : Gorakshep early morning hike to Kalapathar (5500m) and back to Gorakshep 3 hrs.

Trek to Everest base camp 5300m and back to Gorakshep (5 hrs) and overnight Wake up early morning. The sunrise colors begin to appear on Everest, we make our way to the top of one of the finest viewpoints in the Everest region, Kala Pattar [5554m]. And trek back to Gorakshep for Breakfast. We eat our breakfast and then continue to Everest Base camp (5300m). Walk to base camp and back would requires about 5-6 hours, following the Khumbu glacier, sometimes on moraine and sometimes on the glacier itself. The walk is especially interesting for the views of the 15-meters high series of ice, a feature peculiar to Himalayan glaciers. The base camp of the highest mountain in the world is mostly inhabited by several expeditions all over the world. Back to Gorekshep for overnight.

Day 10 : Gorapshep trek to Pheriche 4280m (6 and a half hrs) and overnight.

Today is downhill most of the way, as we retrace our steps to Duglha and descend to Pheriche. The Himalayan Rescue Association have a trekkers aid post here and it is quite interesting to visit..

Day 11 : Pheriche trek to Tyangboche 3860m, (4 hrs) and overnight.

We continue to follow the river and, after crossing it, climb back up through birch and rhododendron forest to Tengboche.

Day 12 : Tyangboche trek to Namchee Bazaar 3440m, (5 hrs) and overnight.

From Tengboche we descend to the bridge over the Dudh Kosi at Phunki where there are water driven prayer wheels, then climb and contour around the hillside to Namche.

Day 13 : Namche Bazaar trek to Lukla 2840m, (7hrs) and overnight.

From Namche Bazaar the trail descends steeply to the village of Jorsale. Passing the villages of Phakding (2640m) and Choplung, we reach Chaunrikharka and the trail that cuts up to the airstrip at Lukla.

Day 14 : Lukla fly to Kathmandu, End of the trek Early morning flight to Kathmandu.

Afternoon free to tour around Kathmandu.
